Lip Contouring

Auckland Lash and Brow Lip Contouring Cosmetic Tattoo

Wake up with beautiful, full lips. Lip Contouring/tattooing enhances and defines your lips. Although it doesn't physically create volume or fullness, it’s all about the illusion. Lip contouring gives you the appearance of full lips. Lip contouring helps adjust/enhance the colour of your lips. It helps you look fresh and awake. If your natural lip colour is pale or dark, it can give the illusion to others that you’re more tired than you actually are.

We use the newest technology and machines with defined needles to drive the micro pigments into the deeper layers of your lip skin. The procedure normally takes 2-3 hours. The tattoo doesn’t just go around your lip like traditional lip-liner. We will do an outline on the border of the lip, but also shade the colour down into the middle of the lip (in a circular motion) to give it a more blended look.

We have various colours in our range for you to choose from, from pale
pink, nude, caramel, to rose red. Colour will last between 3-5 years. Colour touch-ups are recommended every 2-3 years. It’s possible to get a colour that is close to your natural lip colour but it means it won’t last as long and you will need to come back yearly for a colour touch-up. We suggest tattooing your lips one or two shades darker or brighter, depending on your natural skin tone.

We use pigment instead of traditional tattoo ink (which is why it fades). Years ago, permanent makeup was applied with regular tattoo ink. That’s why it often looked so unnatural. When you get a body tattoo, it’s usually done with ink, which has a very watery consistency. With cosmetic tattooing, the pigment is thicker, so it gives that more natural powdery finish, but it does exfoliate out of your skin between 12-18 months. Since you eat and drink with your lips, it’s going to happen more quickly than with other cosmetic
Is it painful? No, new texhniques nowaday will minimise the discomfort and block the pain as possible

The lips will peel after 48 hours only and the lip will heal after a week or so.  We advise our clients getting lip tattoos to schedule the procedure for a Thursday, so they can let the swelling and dryness die down( if any, not applicable for evey client, some client do not experience any swollen or driness) over the weekend. The colour gets lighter, and then as the skin heals, it comes back. You usually see the full, truest colour after about two weeks to 2 months

If you’re prone to cold sores, make sure you’re taking medication to prevent them.
